The important role that Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef play in a healthy balanced diet has received the continued support of one of Great Britain’s top medal hopes for this year’s Olympics.
Cyclist Geraint Thomas, who was recently named Team GB’s Olympian of the Year for cycling, has announced that he will continue is role as the Sporting Ambassador for Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef throughout 2012 and into 2013.
Geraint won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and is aiming to repeat that success in London in the summer.
He was appointed to the role of Sporting Ambassador in 2011 and will continue to talk to young athletes about how a healthy balanced diet including lean portions of Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef can help fuel their success.
